1. Does WideOpenWi-Fi pay for itself?
Generally, the revenue you create from WideOpenWi-Fi can cover the cost of the installation in about one full season. Every campground is different—it might happen sooner, or slightly later. Consider five years of the income you’ll bring in, and you’ll see that WideOpenWi-Fi is a great investment.
2. How much will I make? How about in 5 years?
This depends on which pricing model you choose:
(1) pay-per-device, or
(2) built into site fees.
(1) Pay-Per-Device
If campers are paying per device, forecasting how much you’ll make boils down to a basic equation.
How many subscriptions will be bought?--- X ---How much $ per device?
If you sell 500 daily subscriptions at $5=$2,500
If you sell 500 weekly subscriptions at $12=$6,000
If you sell 200 monthly subscriptions at $32= $6,400
If you sell 100 seasonal subscriptions at $160= $16,000
Per year, this campground would make $30,900.
Over 5 years, they would make $154,500.
(2) Built Into Site Fees
If you want to make money off of the wi-fi by building it into site fees, simply multiply how much you increase site fees by the number of sites that will be paid. People will be willing to pay more to stay with you if you provide fast and reliable wi-fi.
